Evo IX - Fender braces

My plan with the suspension is to fit some MCA reds  as soon as the budget allows. Murry and Josh have a huge reputation & the product is hard to beat.

Until then i'll just do a couple of things to help what it came with stock. Bracing it up can have great effects on the track.

So i decided to grab some Ultra racing  Fender braces as they came up at a good price. They're not hard to install, there are quite a few how to's out there so i wont go into that but what i will say if anyones considering doing this then the Nagisa fender braces would be a better pick as they have that extra point of bracing shown in this photo

Here's the ones i installed

A couple of things worth mentioning as there's no instructions, you could use longer bolts for the doors as the plate ads 4mm.
I used a jack to lift the car, from the front jacking point, for easier access to the bottom fender bolts and noticed that when i lowered the car the front holes that you have to drill actually moved slightly. So i filed these a little more and got the bolts in there. So this proves that Evo's will flex given enough load.
I've read that people have done the bolts up while still on the jack and they've had alignment issues with the fender to door gap panel also.

The other thing worth noting is you have to slide your finger inside that 25mm hole in front of the brace and slide the nut on the inside wall to locate it. There's no other access to get that nut in there & if you drop the nut, you wont get it out.

I'm considering a rear strut brace also but i want to do some more research to see if it's warranted at this point. If i can i'll put the $ towards the MCA coil overs as this is where i will get huge improvements
