Open sprints at Lakeside Raceway

Went out to Lakeside today, had a great day. Weather was perfect so made the most of it.

Decided to jump into the Open sprints which is basically for all other cars that don't fit into the street class. Normally racecars but anything goes really.

Thought i might be holding people up as i know there's some fast cars in there but wasn't the case. Was the other way round, got held up but still managed to get a few good laps before the tyres went off.

Nothing really new on the car, made some minor changes but nothing significant. Made a radiator cooling plate, hot air deflector plate/airbox, ran some neoprene around the radiator to stop air escaping, wrapped bottom ball joints with reflective tape to stop some heat transfer from inside brake rotor, removed splash guards as they were getting chewed up by these track days. I might put these back in, undecided yet. Have got some aluminium mesh, might use that in the front section and reuse the plastic for the top to rear.

I used some .5mm aluminium, so the things I've made are more of a template at this stage until i get some 1 or 2mm. Looks a little ghetto but I wanted to see if there would be any changes.
Nothing in terms of track times, but that wont stop me from making these up so they look good.

Best time today was a 61.12 so am happy with that. Did a string a 61's so shows consistency. Will be good to us this against what it's like with the new suspension. A set of MCA Reds are on the list and the next thing to do, so i'll update when that happens. Until then here's some pics and vids from today
